Kvaratskhelia Starts for Georgia in Euro 2024 Group Stage Match
Georgia vs. Portugal Preview
Young winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is set to make his second start for Georgia in their final group stage match of Euro 2024 against Portugal on Saturday.
The 22-year-old has been one of the breakout stars of the tournament so far, scoring a stunning goal in Georgia's 2-1 defeat to Spain in their opening game. He also impressed in their 3-0 loss to France on Wednesday, despite playing out of position on the right wing.
Georgia head coach Willy Sagnol is expected to restore Kvaratskhelia to his preferred role on the left wing against Portugal, where he will be hoping to make a similar impact to the one he had against Spain.
Portugal, meanwhile, will be looking to secure their place in the last 16 with a win over Georgia. The reigning champions top Group F with two wins from two games, and a draw against Georgia would be enough to see them through to the knockout rounds.
